ENDURO Sprint Relays

SPRINT RELAYS: Team Composition / Race Day Categories Each Relay Team can register for up to three (3) races. Each team can have up to eight (8) members. The Team Captain decides which team members run in each race (and which “leg”) for their team. (The runners on each Relay Team must be reported to the Starting Line Coordinator so the correct TERF can be applied.) Each participant can be on only one Team per day – but can participate in unlimited races. On the day of the meet, each Relay Team will select a Race Day Category in which to compete: - OPEN --- All male (all members of the relay team must be male, and can be any age); - OPEN --- All female (all members of the relay team must be female, and can be any age); - OPEN --- Mixed (members of the team can be either gender, and can be of any age); - AGE GROUP --- All below 20 (no member of the team can be 20 or older – team can be all male, all female or mixed); - AGE GROUP --- All 20 to 39 (all members must be in this age range – the team can be all male, all female or mixed); - AGE GROUP --- All 40 to 59 (all members must be in this age range – the team can be all male, all female or mixed); - AGE GROUP --- All 60 or above (all members must be in this age range – the team can be all male, all female or mixed). Teams entered in the same Race Category (above) will be randomly placed in heats. Each heat will have up to 6 teams. If there are 7 entries in a Race Category (for example), the heats will be divided as equally as possible --- e.g. 4 in one heat, and 3 in the next. The winner in each heat will be given an award. An OVERALL winner in each “Race Category” will be declared for each event. Here are a few ideas when looking for other team members for your Relay Team: Family, Friends, Your Child’s Schoolmates, Neighbors, Church Friends, Workout Buddies, Co-workers, First Responders, Military, etc. --- Remember, you can “Sponsor” teams in any Race Category (above). “Predict a Time” Relay When your Team Captain checks in at the meet for this race, he or she will report the time in which he or she predicts it will take his/her team to complete this race. The team in each Category that finishes closest to their predicted time will be declared the winner in that Category. (not age/gender graded) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Time Equivalent-Relay Factor* As Team Captain (before the online entry deadline), you will list (in your ENDURO USA™ account) each team member’s name, sex and DoB. This information is used to determine the (USA-TF) 100m Dash “Age Graded Factor” for each team member – which will then be added together and divided by 4 to establish the “Time Equivalent-Relay Factor” (TERF) for your Relay Team – for each race. Tim age 50 = .8996 Age Grade factor (100m Dash) Sue age 75 = .7409 Age Grade factor (100m Dash) Team Total 3.4483 Ann age 29 = 1.0000 Age Grade factor (100m Dash) Team Average .862075 = TERF Joe age 9 = .8078 Age Grade factor (100m Dash) (team total divided by 4) If your team finishes the race in 75.50 seconds, your team’s “Adjusted Race Time” (ART) would be: .862075 (TERF) times 75.50 seconds, which results in a final “Adjusted Race Time” of 65.09 seconds.
